Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy, medium-orange color with a moderate white head. SRM of 11-12. (3.75)
Aroma: Strong aromas of orange marmalade, pineapple fruitcake. Some pine. Strong candied-malt sweetness. Hints of caramel. (3.75)
Flavor: Strong flavors of orange, peach, and pineapple fruit cake or marmalade. Resinous pine. A giant, strong peachy sweetness sweeps through the end with candied malt with hints of caramel. (3.50)
Feel: Medium to heavier bodied. Moderate carbonation, but undercarbonated for the body. A strong resinous sweetness lingers on the tongue. (3.50)
Compared with Surly Yummi Bear: Pours a darker, hazier orange color. More resiny orange marmalade and less airy pine. Much sweeter and less bitter. Sweeter overall.
Overall: Props for trying here. Amidst the Haze Craze, here is a brewery going back to the roots to create an old-school west-coast IPA. This isn't the best west-coast IPA. Too sweet (orange and caramel) and lacking bitterness, but appreciate the effort here. Some tweaking and it could improve. Hoping for continued improvement of this beer. (Final Rating: 3.66)

Classic West Coast Style IPA with a lovely bitterness driven by mostly citrus and pine like notes. Dry and assertive while still being highly drinkable.

L-Hazy, tan color.
S-A good dose of citrus with oranges and tangerines. Very nice.
T-Citrus follows onto the flavor...again oranges and tangerines. Soft but still a bit of grapefruit rind like bitterness on the finish.
F-Medium bodied. Smooth carbonation. Finishes with a tight grapefruit rind bitterness.
O-This is good. Has a good citrus element but keeps from becoming too sweet and kicks it in with a hop bite on the finish.
