Appearance: Pours a dark, nearly jet black color with a deep tan head. SRM of 23. (3.75)

Aroma: Aromas of airy and rich chocolate and smoke and pine. Some smokey dark meat. Woodsy. Then at the end some faint hints of pine and fruit. (4.00)

Flavor: Milder on the flavor. Some chocolate behind it all. Some smokiness for sure, but doesn't quite develop much more than that before ending with a smokey airiness. Mild bitterness. (3.50)

Feel: Lighter-bodied. Low to moderate carbonation. Clean aside from the airy bittersweet chocolate left on the tongue. (3.50)

Compared w/ their Stargrazer beer: Similar color. Slightly darker head .More airy and roasty. Smokier and more airy. Less malty and smooth overall. More bitterness.

Overall: A pretty good beer for 4.5%. Not much you can do with a dark beer at this ABV, but this showcases some nice aromas of wood and smoked meat. Flatter on the flavor though. Fits the description as a peewee stout. (Final Rating: 3.64)

My least favorite of the Freezebox but still quite good.

Light bodied Stout that is very dry, more bitter than expected, and driven by roasted and oaky notes. In my opinion, this is like an Americanized version of an Irish Dry Stout with an underlying oakiness.

This uses a new hop product called Provoak, which is a proprietary blend of pelletized, low-alpha hops that incorporate granulated toasted American oak to impart a subtle barrel-aged character to the beer.

Ok...good to know and this is definitely a bit unique....almost a cedar like wood aged aroma rather than oak but who am I to argue...a little smoke on the aroma as well as milk chocolate.

Taste includes the milk chocolate base with a touch of the wood and smoke. Touch of char on the finish.

Body is definitely lighter and a bit thin but this still packs some interesting flavors.

Unique, well made low abv stout.
