Appears a viscous and dark brew. A small head forms and quickly fades. Not much for lacing. Considering the ABV, this is not shocking. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and licorice. Alcohol is well hidden. Quite different in the flavor. Heavy licorice flavor with a boozy finish. Some notes of chocolate and light smoke. Quite hoppy (70 IBUs) that counters the sweetness but I am finding it hard to pick out any hop flavor. Thick body and nicely carbonated results in a nice sippy beer. Overall a nice imperial stout if you like licorice.
