Inspired by our surroundings, through a process of continuously hopping, this double IPA showcases both the historical bitterness and the new age floral juicy characteristics of hops, in a delicate balance with the grain. Named after the lighthouse on Tuckers Island that was swallowed by the sea and recreated many years later in Tuckerton.

Look: Poured from 16 oz can into pint glass. Came out a burnt orange with a very thin white head.

Smell: Pine, citrus, floral notes. Some malt but not as much as you’d expect for a DIPA.

Taste: Really interesting mix of what you’d expect: hops, malt, a little bit of booze. Flavor isn’t overly complex but it works for this one

Feel: Medium body that feels appropriate for the style. Definitely skews toward the imperial side with the boozy feel but isn’t overpowering.

Overall this is a nice offering for a DIPA. Pretty easy to drink and doesn’t try to do too much

Canned on 4/23/2019 and reviewed 4 days later. Poured into a pint glass. It pours a hazy, golden-amber color with a tiny, milk-white head and a thin sheen of lacing. It has a fruity nose with lemon, grapefruit, onion, resinous pine needles, and floral hops. The taste opens more malt-forward than the smell would indicate but it's balanced by tart, bitter lemon and grapefruit. It's fairly dank with notes of resinous pine. The hops provide a bitter bite. I wish the brewer listed the hops on the can or website. This ale has a fairly thin mouth feel with a pleasant level of carbonation. There is some confusion about the ABV: the website says 8.3% but the can reads 8.5%. Either way, it has a nice kick. Overall, Tucker's Beacon grew on me as I sipped it. I'd describe it as a Northeast IPA. It reminds me of Carton O'Dub although it's maltier and not as fruity or refined. This is a good beer for Pinelands to build on. It has the potential to be very good.
