This is an old school Oktoberfest Lager full of malty caramel and nut notes. With aromas of brown bread crust, caramel and nuts. On the palate, juicy-malt character leads into elegant bread and nut notes. This beer finishes with a caramel nut combo and a hint of herbal, grassy hops. This is a full-bodied beer with a good amount of carbonation as well as a slight hop-bitterness to keep it refreshing, especially after a long day of fall yard chores or pairing with salty pretzels and Oktoberfest merriment.

Poured a 473ml can into a pint glass. A one finger fine off white head on a clear dark copper. The head diminishes to a layer. Sheets of fine lacing.
Herbal malts in the nose. Lots of caramel malts in the taste. Light toast up front. Bready and nutty in the middle. a dry finish. minimal hop character.
Medium body and carbonation.Overall a solid Marzen. True to the style and drinkable but for the unusually high ABV.

L: Pleasing amber-hued lager that generates a lot of head. Head does recede quickly.
S: Faint caramel smell.
T: Nice interplay between a crisp lager taste and the caramel sweetness of the malt. No hop character to speak of.
F: Slightly acerbic on the tongue. Somewhat dry finish.
O: Pleasant beer that is worth the try. Although at 6.5% it is not an Oktoberfest session beer!
