A lightly smoked brown ale brewed with a small amount of Beechwood Smoked Malt and Tuckamore Honey. Perfect for pairing with anything off the grill!

Poured a 473ml can into a pint glass. A one finger tan head on a fairly hazy amber brown. The head diminishes to a thin layer that sticks around. some patchy lacing.
Smoke is apparent in the nose up front.
Definite beech smoke up front. Not as intense as the Schlenkerla version but the same flavour. Much more smokey and drier than the Smoked Honey by Royal City.
Medium body and carbonation.
A fine smoked lager.

Nice meaty smokiness, well balanced by caramel sweetness, a touch of acidity, and noble hop bitterness. It's not as assertive or complex as some German rauchbiers I've had but it's still really tasty. I'm always impressed by Royal City keeping a smoked beer in their core lineup, a much milder one, to be fair, but I hope that they keep playing around with rauchbiers.
