Good place to drink local brewed German and Belgian styles. The German beers are well done. Limited food choices. Good drinking location.

This place is hands down one if the better brewery's in metro Detroit. It's 3 floors, though the day I was here they had the first floor open. I went back for st Patrick's day and all the floors were packed. The service is exceptional, and the beers are unique but not weird. Matt the owner and brewer is very knowledgeable and the bar mannager Jeff is one if the coolest guys. He comes around and introduces himself and genuinely cares about your experience. A must try.

Initially, it is the premises which grab the attention. A Vintage Brighton, MI building,
Gone over with a fine tooth comb($$$$)to make it one of the most gorgeous buildings in Livingston county. No expense was spared.
Utilized seasoned wood from its prior self and incorporating vintage/(repro?) Lighting, a visit for the visual aspect is worth it by itself.
Fortunately, there's more.
A mix of Northern European brews (Belgian tripels to French Saisons and their flagship Viking brew Vargdricka) along with occasional jaunts into the
Realm of IPAs and Stouts and Porters.
Samples are always freely offered to zero in on your taste of the day.
Service is great, though understandably busy when it's a full house.
You'd be hard pressed not to find a brew to your liking.
Also the building offers 2.5 floors so seating is ample as are the vistas of Brighton through its many windows.
Check it out!

Innovative, interesting recipes. Some work better than others. Fantastic building worth the visit by itself. Noisy on Friday night. Overall, a good experience.

Best reason to be in Brighton. Period.
Option for pub style service, with very relaxed service. Atmosphere is slightly older, creating a serious beer enjoying space.
The old style recipes are a fantastic breath of fresh air, while still having the occasional modern IPA. Great interior space and fantastic beer garden. Chat with the owner and operator as he wanders the tap room.
My personal favorite brewery.

My wife and I stopped at this brewery to try their beers as part of a 1-day pub crawl. The brewery is located in a beautifully restored 3-story brick building at the edge of the downtown area of Brighton. The interior has some wonderful vibe to it as a result of detailed care during the restoration. Brick walls and wood trim are everywhere.
This brewery has been open for a year and has had ample time to dial in their beer recipes, and it has been a successful effort. There were 13 beers listed on the menu, but one was out, so we ordered a sampler flight of the 12 remaining. Each was very well done to style, as well as exceeding style too. It's difficult to judge one of the beers that is somewhat unusual, called Bean Soup, which tasted exactly like the herb flavors that you'd get in some bean soup. The rest of the beers trended toward having a Belgian or French influence, although the beer menu described some of them being Scandinavian, German and Austrian inspired too. Our scoring mechanism ended up giving an overall grade of a B rating to them.
There is a very limited food menu (one sandwich, one soup, and some snack/appetizer items), but we didn't order anything to eat, thus this brewery review is void of any opinion on the food. This is a great place for some good beer, and I'd go back here again if ever in the neighborhood.
