I went to Pigeon River as it was close to a relatives and my girlfriend and I love trying out breweries. We didn't come in with much expectation but were pleasantly surprised.
L: Dark Brown if not black, not really translucent
S: My nose isn't as skilled as most on here, but it seemed to have a sweet oatmeal smell and almost a bourbon scent.
T: The taste is way sweeter than I expected, and I was happy with it. It came off as a cereal taste to me, but almost a sugary cereal. The bourbon is prevalent. I really enjoyed the flavor.
F: Seemed slightly thinner than the style may dictate but not enough to throw off my enjoyment of this beverage.
O: 4.25/5 seems right. The next day I went to a gas station and caught an advertisement for six packs of the stout, but was disappointed to find them sold out. I went to the brewery and bought a growler instead! I enjoyed it enough to buy a new glass and a fill if that convinces anyone.
