Look: It pours light golden with a white head that has moderate head retention. It is quite clear.

Aroma: It has a moderately light citrus aroma. There is also light pineapple and a bit of grainy sweetness.

Taste: The flavors are full of grainy sweetness and some cracker. It also has a light touch of citrus and hints of pineapple.

Feel: It has a moderately light body with the balance towards a sweeter finish.

Overall, very refreshing with the interplay between the grains and the hops.

Poured into a mug a very light golden with a minimal white head that is gone pretty quickly.Nice floral and sweet fruity notes in the nose,a good mix of hops and sweetness.Starts out on the sweeter side on the palate then melds into a leafy/earthy finish. The honey plays a large role in the beer and there is some good balance,a little sharp in the feel but a good beer for a a somber occasion.

One time release to remember the 31 lives lost on 6 Aug 11 when a Chinook was shot down in Afghanistan. Often it is referred to by the Chinook's call sign, Extortion 17 and was the highest single day loss of life to US forces in Afghanistan. It holds a place near and dear to our hearts and we are honored to remember those lost. Poured a light golden with minimal head. Smell offers hints of honey, toast, lemongrass and slight hop resin. Taste isn't so much of a hoppy ale, but IMHO, it leans toward a pilsner or India Pale Lager. The honey does show up in the aftertaste and all-in-all, this is a well-balanced, easy to drink offering from SoPines.
