Poured hard from a tall can into a snifter glass, forming a couple fingers of brown head. A bit of lacing remained on a deep brown body. Smell is yummy caramel with a hint of coffee. Taste is definitely salted caramel while cold, with more coffee coming through as it warms. Moderate sweetness. Very close taste to it's namesake. Just shy of medium bodied with moderate carbonation, even after the hard pour. Quite tasty dessert stout that doesn't overpower, I'm impressed with my first beer from this brewery.

Look: It pours black with a dark brown head. The head is frothy and has very good head retention.

Smell: It has a coffee, expresso aroma with noticeable lactose and some vanilla. There are some background coconut notes and a very light pineapple quality.

Taste: It has coffee flavors with caramel and salt. It has a bit of sweetness to it. There are very low coconut notes with low vanilla notes.

Feel: It has a full body with a bitter sweet finish.

Overall, Southern Pines brewing does a good job with pastry and specialty stouts and this is not exception. Wonderful flavors and it is actually quite silky and smooth going done.
