330 ml clear bottle, as Theakston Distiller's Cask Range Finest Masham Ale, from Prima Beer. ABV is 6.5%. Clear and deep reddish copper to amber colour, low off-white head. Pleasant aroma of toffee and caramelised fruit, smooth whisky and oak, hints of vanilla. The smooth flavour is not too sweet, despite fairly distinct notes of toffee, caramel and vanilla. Only hints of whisky. Minimal hops.

Dark auburn. Large bubbles to the head. Lacing.
Spice, mild oak and fruit aroma. Brown sugar.
Taste follows the smell. The whisky is noticeable but very light.
Low to medium carbonation and feel.
Similar to Innis and Gunn offerings without the oomf.

Difficult to merge whiskey with ale. This is drinkable with a mild whiskey note and nothing too special about the ale. Still worth trying for something different.

A mid brown body with a foaming white head that soon is naught but a ring clinging to the side of the glass
The Aroma is Whisky & barley sugars
It's very flat & flavourless the whisky is just about there & after the fourth mouthful there is finally some aftertaste but its pretty much just cough drops
Very thin mouthfeel & V strange carbonation
What the hell ale did they use?
Whatever it is I bet it's not on sale by itself ie not whiskey barrelled
as it must be too dull even for Theakston's
