Keg (unpasteurised), as Theakston Pale Ale, at the Boot Room, Wheldale Hotel, Castleford. Golden colour, creamy white head. Moderate aroma, hints of citrussy hops. Lovely creamy and smooth mouthfeel. Smooth flavour too, with tolerable citrussy hops.

This is what an English pale ale should be. Light and easy to drink. None of the fancy trappings of a trendy "Craft beer" . A honest Yorkshire beer with a traditional flavour and that's high praise from a Lancastrian believe me!

Pours clear gold, vast head.

Light fruits, lots of corn on nose.

Taste very light, slick mouthfeel and lively carb.

Not a good beer. Shame, I want theakston to make a nice pale
