Transcribed from Notes of 20/10/2006, this was the first beer tasted at the Capitol, a JDW pub at Forest Hill, SE London, during the chain's Full Moon Beer Festival.
A: light amber in colour, coming with a thin white foamy head and great clarity.
S: floral hops, hop resins, lightly honey-ish malts come on top of a sweet touch of brown sugar, leaving behind very mild citric and juicy flowery hoppy scent as of Cascade. Not as complex as it is smooth & straight-forward pleasant.
T: pale malts' sweetness and nice biscuitiness approach the palate on a par with smooth, tangerine-fruity hops; slowly, a flowery bitterness develops, bringing forward more hops but consistently in a rather "settled" manner. Also, a raw-peachy fruitiness as of Cascade hops is intertwined seamlessly with other hop elements throughout the tasting.
M&D: softly carbonated and fresh, light-bodied, very quaffable overall, this is a quality ale to savour slowly.
