Cask pint at the Boot Room, Wheldale Hotel, Castleford. ABV was 3.9%. Copper colour, creamy head, nice lacing. Moderate aroma of malts and toffee. Malty flavour, slightly on the dry side, with hints of foffee, and a tolerable hop bitterness in the finish.

T & R Theakston Ltd. "Black Bull Bitter"
on tap @ Ma Egerton's Stage Door, Liverpool, UK 2 May 2015
Notes: Crystal clear deep amber with an orange cast beneath a short head of white. Limited lacing... possible dirty glass? Aroma of apple/ pear, and citrus - carries over into the flavor with some golden-medium caramel in the malt and a touch of grassiness/leafiness. Light-medium in body and smooth. Moderate bitterness. Balanced. Short finish with a flicker of orange marmalade. I thought I was ordering a dark beer with a name like "Black Bull", but this is more of a crisp and fruity bitter!
