Appearance: Pours a clear, medium to dusky orange color with a mild off-white head. SRM of 10. (3.75)
Aroma: Mild aromas of tangerine and orange upfront, but a moderate aroma of maple, and earthy caramel. (3.75)
Flavor: The flavor follows with more faint tangerine upfront followed by a strong earthy maple and caramel flavor throughout. A light pine and woodsy note through the end. Finishes malty and slightly sweet.
Feel: Medium-bodied. Leans malty and finishes with a woodsy and earthy sweetness lingering.
Compared to Bent Paddle's Golden Hop IPA 7/21/21: Pours a similar color with a stronger head. More maple and caramel on the aroma. Less citrus and hops.
Overall: Definitely earthy and malty for an IPA. A slight hop presence, but then finishes the rest with earthy maple and caramel malts. A slight pine note, but not enough to make it a west-coast. Sort of similar to Sierra Nevada's Torpedo, but more malty with less pine and bitterness. Enjoyable, but probably drinks closer to an English Pale Ale or English IPA than an American IPA. As others have mentioned it drinks earthy with a sweet caramel profile. The subtle citrus gives it a nice balance though. Drinks malty and seems somewhat fitting for a northern midwest IPA. IPA pours a darker amber/bronze color, with a small, but lacing head. Aroma is earthy, and dirt? Flavor is very earthy, lots of dirt flavors, bitter finish. Good body and feel. Overall, its an earthy IPA, nice bitter flavors, overall there is worse, and there is much much better.

I got a bottle of this beer off the single shelf from a beer store in LaCrosse, WI. It poured a clear copper with thin white head that did not leave much lace. The scent had wine hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bitter pine presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a decent beer.

Disappointing. Diacetyl. In the smell, in the taste, in the slickness in the mouth. It is not the worst diacetyl bomb ever, but it has no place in an IPA. On top of that it is the sweetest beer I've every had that purports to be an IPA. Hop aroma, malt flavor, if present, is hidden by these egregious flaws. Adding insult to injury, the beer is hazy and has no head. I have no desire to finish it.

Aroma is sweetish malts and slight Minhas funk. The flavor is citrus/fruit, light hops, slight earthiness, mild sugar, malts and a mix of tart/sour and spicy in the finish. Not bad given who made it.
