330ml can, 7% ABV. Many thanks to Erland for bringing this over from Norway. Pours out to a cloudy dark amber, some little flittering bits of yeast and such. Forms a modest yellow head with very good retention and avg lacing. The nose is interesting; Caramel, a faint wisp of brett, a little horsy, quite fruity, dark fruits, raisins, fresh apple cider, rotting apples. The mouthfeel is initially soft but then becomes interestingly bitey in the middle and then the finish has quite a bit of oxidation...wet cardboard, and then followed by smoke. I didn't get smoke in the nose much, but definitely here in flavor. There is a peculiar acidity that is a little upsetting to the stomach, I can't place it but it's a bit metallic. Quite warming as it goes down, more than I would anticipate for a 7% beer. I don't know if it's brewed with juniper, but I definitely don't get any here.

An interesting beer. I'm glad to have tried it, but I wouldn't seek this one out. This is my first Kveik and I will definitely be trying more when I can find them. Being a homebrewer and hearing how Kveik can cleanly ferment in just a few days in rather high temps sounds very interesting.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 7.0%. Cloudy amber to brown colour, moderate off-white head, nice lacing. Aroma of malts and rye bread, a hint of fruit and juniper. The flavour has distinct fruity notes from the kveik yeast and the rye, followed by notes of bread, malts, juniper berries and other spices, and moderate bittering hops. Pleasant to drink.
