Poured into snifter from 12oz bottle. Listed expiration date is 31 December 2016
Appearance: Not yet pitch black, marginal hints of red. Thin, fizzy head on the pour that doesn't last but a few seconds
Smell: Stinky, like slightly spoiled milk. Deeper whiffs reveal sugary maple syrup nature. I found this beer really hard to get any distinct scents from. Maybe some vanilla, the slightest touch of dark chocolate
Taste: The thing I notice most is a slight sour milkiness, leading me to believe this beer is infected. It's really the dominant feature thats covering up some of those chocolatey and maple syrup notes. A weird ester profile as it works its way down your throat. Maybe mildly overcarbonated too. The label says Jack Daniels notes are in here too, but I can't for the life of me notice them.
The brewers say to blame Canada because they inspired KBS, which inspired this beer, but they should really be blaming their quality control.

Collaboration between Birbant and Chmielarnia.
Stout with oak chips and maple syrup.
Opaque black with tan head, low retention.
Smell - woody, chocolate, vanilla. Don't know how maple syrup really smells and tastes.
Taste - follows the smell.
Medium body, low carbonation.
Poor.
