Tasted this beer by half-pint alongside Cotleigh's Golden Eagle Best Bitter, at my local Wetherspoon in East End London, 24/07/05.
The beer pours a clear, light golden hue, with almost non-existent beerhead and carbonation. The aroma is a bit "skunky" hoppy at the front along with a kind of strong scent of honey exposed in the air for far too long; besides that the nose is really very very faint. The taste is, intriguing, if not slightly missing the point--at first slightly sour, citrusy palate of hops arrives, then gradually taken over by an interestingly warmish, mixed flavour of malts and wheats, and increasingly dryish, wild-flower honey-like, slightly savour flavour... Lingering in the aftertaste are mainly hops, as the interesting touch of honey is quite short-lived... Overall it's a light-bodied ale with just moderate and (not well) mixed flavour of honey, malt, wheat, and hops. Just an O.K. beer, and certinaly not my cup of tea.
