Highgate 'Dark Mild' in a 500ml brown bottle, best before Oct 2010, tatsed on one of my random beer evenings in Sept 2010.
3.4% ABV, poured into a UK pint sleeve glass. Deep ruby red, cream coloured head which gave some, but not much lacing.
The aroma was of malt molasses and dark chocolate hints.
The flavours in the taste were again chocolate, molasses and some liquorice added for good measure.
fairly thin body wise, which let it down somewhat.
OK, but not one of the better Dark Milds.

This is a traditional mild beer, and normally available from cask on hand pull in many pubs in the Walsall / Wolverhampton region, and - if 'mild' is something you enjoy - then always a good drink. Reliable, soft textured, easy to drink where-ever I have had it, and a good solid stand by for many drinkers of this style of beer in this region. Always good when had at the brewery tap! Mild is not my favorite style, but I usually enjoy this as a change from my usual preference. Incidently, Highgate brew M&B mild for them at the brewery, though it is a different brew to their own mild.

Pretty lame. didn't get much out of it. Really sulfury, eggy nose, dull, grainy, with mild roasted, choc flavours, dry finish. Milds can be a bit hit and miss sometimes, and this is a miss, not much happening at all to speak of, boring cask mild(cask- GBBF 03')

Had this brew at the famous Whitehorse pub in London. Is a dark ruby bordering on the browns, head was thin and lacing was sparse. Earthy smell that was malt dominated. Ultra smooth taste that was slighty toasty. Lightly hopped, low ABV, incredibly drinkable style of beer. Nice beer when in the mood for multiples.
