Part of the 'World Leaders' series of beers this brewery is brewing this year (2013).
Hand-pulled pint in a local pub on 28 Feb 2013.
Holdens have brewed light golden beers for years and this one follows that tradition: so golden in colour, bright and with a full white head on top, typical of a West Midlands/Black Country light coloured brew.
The smell was a nice blend of hops and malts, floral, yet biscuity also.
The taste was also a mixture of flavours with the sweeter malts taking centre stage at the front: the drier hop content arriving as the malts subsided in strength towards the end of each sip.
Easy drinking and well balanced: the 4.5% ABV was well hidden within the brew and although I'm not a huge fan of UK blonde/golden beers usually, this was fine.
