I visited Canuck Empire a few weeks ago while exploring around Abbotsford. It’s not too big, with a few tables on the patio out front and a little bit of seating inside. Brewhouse is in the back room and all the beers are written on a white board behind the bar; it’s got a very dad’s-garage DIY feel to it.
They had 9 beers on when I was there, including a brown, a helles, hazy IPA, gose, chamomile wheat, raspberry blonde, mango habanero pale ale, and a pilsner that came in a lime version as well. Overall the beers were flawed-to-okay; I took a couple cans home, one of which was a dill pickle habanero gose, which, while weird, wasn’t too bad. The hazy IPA, however, left much to be desired. The service was very friendly and it’s a nice neighborhood spot, but I wouldn’t go there just for the beer.
