Solid beer...but not as good as the former tenant. Modus Operandi is becoming my favorite aussie micro brewer.

Great summer ale with a good hop finish.

Thanks to Owen for grabbing me a full growler of this stuff, which I've opened after four days of refrigeration.
Pours a golden which becomes yellow when held up to the light. Quite a healthy head and healthy lacing.
Was poured cold so nose was a bit muted initially but as it warmed I got distinctive pine floating above a pleasant malt backdrop. There was also a slight "lolly" quality to it, not in a bad way. I would have also said tropical fruits initially but I think I'm being influenced by the "Summer IPA" style descriptor and the light colour of the beer, as now the main hops I get are piney. Am also getting a bit of crystal malt coming through (perhaps lending to the tropical perception), but it's not overly dominant. Pine varies in intensity- can be quite strong at times.
Taste is a pleasant pine on what tastes like a "lolly water" base but isn't actually sweet. In fact it finishes noticeably bitter, but does vary a bit; at times the bitterness will seem more intense and at others it's more relaxed (well, I am drinking a whole growler of it so I've had quite a few sips on which to judge this). That's probably more a personal perception/subjectivity thing.
Mouthfeel is more "lolly water", perhaps a bit of passionfruit coming through now.
Hop presence is really similar to in the Former Tenant, just that there is obviously less malt behind it.
Just a solid, well-made beer. Probably not going to blow anyone away but the fact I'm probably going to polish off the growler in one night is a fairly solid recommendation as far as I'm concerned.
