Aldi Australia often have limited Craft beers on sale periodically, usually for a limited time and limited stock. When I see them, I try and grab them especially if I've never had them before. Usually cheaper then buying them elsewhere. I believe this is Modus Breweries current XPA, and not they Lost Key XPA which I thinks been discontinued.
Vessel: 375ml can, in a light mandarin and white design.
Appearance: Bright yellow with 2-3 inches of foamy white head that leaves some lacing on the glass as it recedes.
Aroma: Bright critus and pine notes. Smooth biscuity malt, getting some tropical mango, passionfruit, orange and Manderin notes. Smells juicy!.
Taste: Strong citrus profile. Lemon, lime, orange and mandarin. Citrus fruit peel bitterness is very much apparent. Sweetness isn't prominent, but it's like fruity sweetness. The bitterness is refreshing and slightly spicy from the pine hop.
Feel: At 4.2% ABV it's not strong. It's a bit watery, and highly carbonated, but XPAs are made from refreshment in hot tropical climates like Australia, so it hits the spot nicely. It's smooth and easy drinking, highly sessionable.
Overall: An excellent beer for the style. Flavour is excellent, drinkability is high. Would definetely purchase again.
