I’m drinking this in an English themed pub, and that may color my review. The beer comes across to me as a bitter rather than a pils.

Appearance - more amber than straw. Head and carbonation lacking.

Aroma-some estery or ciders smell. In home brewing lagers, I have encountered this using s23 dry lager yeast.

Taste- some soapy character followed by sweeter malt finish.

The beer is drinkable. There are some characteristics that seem out of style but I don’t necessarily hate them. But I have to say if I brewed a pils and got this, I would be disappointed.

My first offering from SBC and I kinda liked it...

Though pilseners are not necessarily my style of choice, I do believe I enjoy a solid one when I come across it, and this one is pretty solid. Good coloration for the style, slight lacing with a weak head. The smell is bready, malty, with a slight sweetness. Mouthfeel is very light and crisp with a distinct carbonation you can't escape. The taste was everything I read on the can - especially the spiciness you sometimes read about but don't quite get. This one was quite spicy making it unique (IMHO) for the style. A good solid pils, maybe not the best I've had but certainly out one I will enjoy quite a few more times.

Poured from a can into a jelly jar style pint glass (it's trendy).
Golden orange color, slightly hazy. Beautiful head, over an inch, that last quite a long time.
Clean tasting, a bit of malt, very slight hops. With the color, you want there to be some citrusy, orange notes, but only just a hint I could taste. A hint of pepper.
Quite carbonated but not so as to overwhelm.

Overall, very good. A good session beer. I'm partial to Czech style pilsners. This reminds me a bit of a Krusovice (on draft, from a pub in Prague, not from a bottle here in the U.S.) This is the closest I've encountered to a fresh Czech pilsner on U.S. soil. A new favorite for me.

Poured from a can dated App 24, 17. The beer pours a clear amber color with a one-finger, fluffy white head that left some good lacing.

The beer smells like a pilsner. It's all bread and malt.

The taste is bready also but slightly hoppy also. There is a lingering bitterness.

The mouthfeel is very light and thinly carbonated.

Overall it's a decent pilsner.

FROM A 12 oz. can dated February 9, 2017

Appearance is golden, trending towards light copper. One finger head, scant lacing.
Aroma from bread, sea breezes, Savannah city squares.
Malty goodness, tinge of floral hops, a little citrus note. Refreshing
Smooth, full mouthfeel, smooth carbonation.

Freshness really makes a difference, glad we have access to this locally.

T: Malty sweetness, caramel, earthy bitterness

M: Light to medium

O: I really like this pilsener. It has a nice malty sweetness and a great hop presence to balance. Really quality beer.

From a can.
The aroma is weird and the flavor is too, at least by German or Czech standards.
Not actually bad but very floral and lacking in normal Euro (Saaz) hop flavors.
Very nice mouthfeel, with soft but rather high carbonation in a medium-light body.

L: Poured from a bottle to a pilsner glass. Had a dark, golden color and a clear texture. There was a small amount of fluffy head that lasted an average amount of time. Pretty good lacing.

S: An OK aroma of hops, malt, and a little fruit mixed in as well.

T: Tasted of a fair amount of hops, a little malt, a hint of grain, and a slight citrus tinge. This is a solid enough flavor, with an earthy quality to it. It could have used a bit more of a hops presence, but it's not bad otherwise.

F: A well carbonated beer with a somewhat slick finish. Light-bodied.

O: On the whole, this is a pretty good beer. There are better pilsners out there, but this one has a likable quality.

I want to rate this bad boy a 5 but nothing is ever perfect but to me and my palette it's pretty damn close! Such an amazing Pilsner style beer with a up front citrus note that is perfect for a summer time brew that will make your lips curl from cheek to cheek in happiness. Such a great brew that is made by some amazing people! Definitely a must drink!!
