a simple kettle sour with blueberry, strawberry, and banana, more tidy on the bacterial souring than the other sour we had in here with the goldenberry and pineapple, but also still not perfect, faint sweatiness in the nose, even less in the flavor. slightly murky pinkish red pour with enough haze to mute it, fizzy but not collecting much head, looks less than perfectly well refined, but still pretty with this color. the aroma and flavor both are way more berry than banana forward, cool they have more than one banana beer on the menu though, who does that?! there is nice tartness up front making my mouth water when i smell it, blueberry first, then strawberry jelly, then sweet mushy really ripe banana, lemony lactic character, and a bit more grain heft than it needs, sweet and starchy and bready. the flavor is all of this, minerals underlying the whole thing, peppy citrus, not too much banana and its mostly on the finish, some grain sweetness and some sugar from the berries too, moderate acidity, very modern and flavored to me, not overdone but bold, could use a little lightening for drinkability, this is pretty full, but the flavors work well, the banana makes it unique and overall this is solid. great taproom, tons of cool beers flowing!
