300 ml bottle in São Paulo, BR. Information on the bottle indicates the beer was made for "pepper lovers" and was brewed with Malagueta chilis and rose pepper. Poured jet black with a tan head without much retention. Aroma is heavy in roasted coffee, even burnt coffee beans along with toasted caramel malts, dark chocolate covered raisins, spice, and perhaps some molasses. Taste follows the nose at first, but the spicy chili pepper creeps in and quickly builds in the back of the throat, holding strong through the finish and overpowering the other notes. I've had dark chocolate made with chilis and felt the same way about it: interesting, but not for me.
