Just finished off a nice walk in the park with Mom and the pup on Mothers' Day, so I figured I'd maximize the outing and hit up the Plainfield breweries. Why not? Mom was game. About a mile-and-a-half or so from Settlers' Park, out of the way in the back of a residential area, right by the tracks, is where Werk Force lies, the cap of a row of other services/shops (not quite a strip mall, but certainly not too far away, either). It's an open, loft-ish space with the brewery at the back, bathrooms on the right, a BBQ pit of sorts on the left, and plenty of varied seating in the spacious center. No screens for distractions, if that's how you feel about 'em, but the music's pretty good (heard a Barenaked Ladies cover I'd not encountered before, right on). The selection on offer weighs heavily in favor of the hops and the thick stouts, but there were also a couple lagers and a Scotch in there, so there's something for most, if not everyone, including this here ticker. Staff were rather friendly and ready to talk up the suds if you wanted/needed, even complimented my WTYP shirt (who don't like trains, eh?). Thanks again, by the way. Beers are pretty tasty all around, and crowlers are available if you wanna partake back at the park (assuming they allow it or you wanna live dangerously). Didn't have any of the barbecue, what with my accursed vegetarianism and all (and not being all that hungry, there's that, too), so as usual no comment on that end of things. Overall, I kinda wish I didn't live so damned far away, 'cause I could see coming back here pretty often otherwise.

Large industrial brewery with lots of indoor/outdoor seating, and a cool wooden mosaic behind the bar. Order at the bar straight ahead from the entrance, and order food at the window to the right.
Selection is varied and interesting, there’s likely something here for most palates. Six lagers, a seasonal Marzen, and a NZ dry-hopped one. Several IPA’s, a fruited Gose, BA stout & saison, APA, coffee stout, and a few others.
Service was great, very knowledgeable, fast and friendly. They chatted for a few minutes while it was slow.
Overall, it was a very good experience. Werk Force has proven themselves time & time again as quality innovators in the local scene. Additionally they are involved in their local community and that is really impressive too.

Went to the new and improved larger brewery. Plenty of seating, nice vibe. Good music, friendly service, and a separate small counter for food. Beer was good. Enjoyable evening on my own.

New location different Unit # in the same complex. Tap room and expanded Beer garden due to Covid-19. List of beers was expansive, liked all beers we tried. Parking is smaller for now. Come in and visit

In my town so Yaay! but...no background music so a bit quiet. Pros...Love that they have kombucha! And a Chaga Mushroom beer! But...wish they took the time to make some serious stouts and ipas with real cahoonas...meaning % and full flavor...they’ve come farther than many, I’ll admit, but it’s such a tease for more serious batches so we sadly drive to other breweries that offer more...I’m rooting for u to improve tho! I know u can do it :))

Great brewery that recently built a new taproom. Cool vibe with ample seating, especially for release days. The beer selection is great and the quality of their beers is outstanding. Highly recommended.

Large new taproom attached to the brewery seats 15 at a beautiful long substantial wooden bar in front of coolers for to-go beers and over 20 tap handles.
Communal tables fill the rest of the spacious hall with seating for 100 easy.
Design is wood, steel and cement, but it looks more like work actually gets done here than just an industrial 'look'. I am a sucker for trains and they pass just outside with a view through windows. Large overhead garage doors open the space to the outside in good weather.
There are no TV's, interesting. The music sounds good though.
No food. Bring your own, or wait for a food truck.
Beer is diverse, reasonably priced, and delicious. They are working on several different yeast strains in an 'experimental' series of releases available on tap, so that is exciting. In addition, they will fill any clean brewery container, but will slap on a Werk Force sticker.
Service is prompt and accommodating and, as always, a work in progress, but questions do get answered, beers get poured, and all without issue.
An interesting note about tips is a sign that boasts that tips are split evenly with the brew and local families/organizations in need. Always cool.
