A sequel beer for a sequel years in the making. We’ve updated our recipe to be more sour and even better and getting your thirst out of the danger zone! We’ve changed souring techniques, to up the tartness and flavor, cut back on the salt, and added even more dry-hop for a tropical finish. A beer that is good anytime but best enjoyed outdoors on your favorite patio or when keeping up foreign relations.

First had poured from 12-oz. can, with paper label, into stange. An unaggressive little gose, with elements of a Czech Pilsner, good for an Indian Summer afternoon.

Review from BA Mag Issue #118 ( Nov 2016 )

Tasty, Authentic, Tart, Salty
It's very refreshing to run into a brewery’s beer where the simple fundamentals are met, even if it’s a style so newly resurrected that most consumers don’t have a clue about its origins or understand what it is supposed to be. That kind of hands-on education I can really respect. This no frills version of a Gose from Second Self comes across as authentic, enjoyable, and most of all, very drinkable. With a beer like this in their lineup, they are surely a brewery to watch. [Jason]

even with the dry hop, this beer is somewhat bland and uninteresting as the style goes. the other interpretation however, which i am back and forth on, is that its just delicate and nuanced, and that i should appreciate such a clean and bright beer that was soured in this method. its a nice contrast to the hazy messy cheesy sloppy overly acidic kettle soured or sour mashed beers that are everywhere right now. this is so much more refined, tidy, and pretty, so even though it doesnt taste incredibly pungent or anything, its pretty well made beer and i appreciate the subtlety. its clear, which is uncommon in gose, light honey colored with a short lived smidge of white head. the aroma shows a little citrus hop character and just the slightest lactic tang. no herbaceous smell from the coriander, no cereals from the wheat. the flavor is kind of like that too, not much happening on the malt front and very little body. a little citrus kick and a little clean bitterness from the hops in front of a barely even tangy sourness, incredibly reserved for the style. the tartness is less than even say a cranberry, its really refreshing because of that. i like the salt, i can taste it and feel it, and its also just the right amount. there is a little less for it to bring out, so it just sort of stands on its own which is cool. this is amazingly easy drinking, a true crusher for the style, the lighter acidity helps with that. i wish for a little more carbonation, but its pretty awesome as it is. unexpected, i liked this more and more as i drank through it. one can just is not enough...

Appearance: Pours a scantly hazed, very pale yellow body with a thinning, white layers of suds.

Smell: Gentle hints of floral, citrus. Light graininess. Subtle brine and coriander accents.

Taste: Softly tart, lemony atop very faintly bready malts. A welcome salinity turns to some herbaceousness, a bit more citrus and floral coriander. Drying, lightly tart finish.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: A solid, likable gose.

A: Pale yellow with a 1/2-finger head
S: Light, mostly wheat/malt, a bit of herbs, citrus, yeast and sea salt
T: Sea salt up front followed by citrus, herbs, spice, lemon then a yeast/salt finish. Light and subtle but the complex
M: Light-bodied, a bit salty & spicy
O: This isn't one to quaff but to contemplate. The flavors & complexities are there, just subtle

Gose's are quickly becoming the new 'tropical/citrus ipa'... Too many people trying to make them and only a few really standout. I root for these guys as a local ATL brewer (and GT alumni on top of that).

This is just a Gose - slightly above average. Drinkable, slightly tart, citrus and white sparkling wine (?) notes come through. Body extremely light. Pretty forgettable beer unfortunately

Great name, nice guys - probably wouldn't seek this one out again

On tap

Pours a fairly clear golden color

Smells like some spices, kind of like their Thai Wheat

Taste is insipid, some ginger, a touch of salt, hardly any acid, and no real lactic fermentation character. Did they just pour a little lactic acid and salt in their Thai Wheat to try and hop on the gose hype train?

Tastes lazy and uninspired

Appearance - gold in color, typical. Smell - weird smell can't pinpoint it. Taste - very slight fruit but mostly salt and slight spices. Overall - it's ok, nothing outstanding, but good.
