Appearance: Pours a relatively clear, yellow-hued body. Absolutely zero head formation, though.
Smell: Moist barley grains and a near-absent hint of pineapple. Brother.
Taste: Quickly fleeting hint of mild sweetness. Slightly vapid barley breadiness detected - this taste comes and goes almost instatly as well. Altogether minimal tropical tastes from the fruit additions and tropical-minded hops. Finishes a bit thin, a bit dry and just the ultra faintest hint of pineapple juice.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Light carbonation.
Overall: They tried for a non-lactose milkshake IPA. I get it, milkshake IPA's can be a gut-churning mess. However, where I was hoping for an IPA brimming with creamy raw grain qualities and the purported pineapple/coconut flavors, this was a complete WHIFF! by the good folks at Second Self.
