This beer was decent as well. Just not great. The wild and wonderful series #1 was a let down but series #2 was great! For a DIPA this one just fell short for me.

In my opinion this was not a very good dipa.
Poured with a nice head, good color. Very sweet smelling, almost sweeter than a barley wine. Very little if any hop aroma. Smelled almost like syrup.
Initial taste is of pure two row malt sugar. There was no hop profile whatsoever. Pure malt bomb. It tasted like pre boil wort to me, and pretty much had the same consistency. At 77 ibu, I thought it would be a little sweet based on the 8.9%, but I was not prepared at all. I let it warm up a little to see if it could be drank like a barley wine, but it failed that test too.
I wanted to like this as I was visiting west virginia for a wedding, and can never pass up a local dipa. Did not finish more than half of the bomber. Waste of ten bucks. Could have been bad storage or something as I bought from a 7-11, but it was in the cold section, and no beer was out on the floor.
Will not try again, but I got a west Virginia beer off of my check list.

22oz bottle poured into a tulip glass
A- pours a hazy golden peach color with a small foamy and bubbly white head that reduces to a film skimming the top, some lacing left behind
S- lots of tropical fruity hop aromas up front with notes of mango, tangerine, passionfruit, pineapple and grapefruit peel. Slightly sweet but clean underlying malt
T- tropical hop flavor follows the aroma with notes f pineapple, mango, guava, orange zest, followed by a sharp malty sweetness that dominates the mid-palate and continues to the finish, with more tropical notes on the linger
M- medium body with medium carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and a slightly creamy finish
O- nice tropical hop showcase, but it does get a bit too sweet at times
