On tap at the brewery, the day of the release
A- pours a deep brown color with a small creamy off-white head that retains nicely after the pour, leaving a bit of lacing behind
S- dark fruit notes of front, with aromas of fig, grape skin, and red apple peel. Light spicy bourbon barrel brings a hint of caramel, finishes with light chocolate
T- slightly tart and fruit up front, followed by some spicy yeast, notes of clove & banana. Very subtle bourbon barrel adds a caramel sweetness around the mid-palate, along with some oak. The finish brings more fruity notes with a spicy dry linger
M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that turns creamy into the finish
O- an interesting take on a saison, the barrel notes are very subtle and the classic spiciness of a saison sometimes has trouble popping through the darker notes, very interesting nonetheless
