On-draught @ Etno in Vilnius.

2nd impression from notes taken Summer 2014 in Vilnius:
"Gutstoutas."
5.20% ABV. On-draught into a witbier glass.
No bubble show forms as it's poured.
HEAD: No lacing. No head.
BODY: Opaque dark ruby broack colour. No visible yeast or sediment.
Looks nice for the style, but isn't unique or special.
AROM:A Fennel, chocolate malt, dark malt sweetness, a kiss of roast, some sweet fruit, shoe leather, sweet schwarz malts. A pleasant albeit muted aroma of average intensity. I detect no yeasty notes, alcohol, or off-notes.
TASTE: Sweet malts, fennel, schwarz malts, and generic sweetness. Painfully simple; there's not much to it. It's a cohesive flavour profile but a reticent one.
Okay balance. Poor depth of flavour. Brief flavour duration. Average flavour intensity.
A bit too sweet. Not at all nuanced or subtle in its execution. It's in sore need of more of a roasted barley presence.
TEXTURE: Smooth and wet. Medium-bodied. Thick. A bit syrupy. Doesn't suit the taste all that well. Aptly carbonated. Not as creamy or soft as would be ideal. More dryness and coarseness (coupled with the abovementioned addition of roast) would be an improvement.
OVERALL: Downable but underwhelming. Not a brew I'd pick as my first choice for a second pour. More a schwarzbier than an oatmeal stout, to its detriment. It's a subpar dark beer with nothing to offer the discerning drinker.
