Appearance: Pours a relatively clera dull golden color with a two finger head; excellent retention with webs of lacing
Smell: A blend of toasted bread and piney hops along with a hint of caramel
Taste: Toasted bread with a touch of caramel forward with the piney hops emerging in the middle; a bit fruity, as well, with a nicely balanced finish with a moderate to high level of bitterness
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate to high carbonation
Overall: I have been looking for an APA like this for a long time; the style used to be omnipresent when I first got into craft beer but now it is rarely brewed and even more rarely brewed well; most of the beers that are marketed as APAs are more like IPAs that fall short in bitterness or have a heightened malt base
Thanks, muchloveforhops3, for the opportunity

from a sixer picked up at Super 1 Foods in Polson, MT; 41 ibu; love the Tenacious D reference on the bottom of the can
12oz can poured into a pint glass
P gusher can; pours a copper color w/ 2-3f -worth of foamy white head; lots of active carb
N med aroma of sweet bready malt, some citrus, and a touch of pine
T caramel malt supports citrusy and piney notes throughout; clean, balanced, simple, and satisfying
Mf med-full bodied, med carb level (lower than I expected, based on the pour); nice
O a well-executed, flavorful, and easy-drinking pale ale; worth a try if you see it!

the american pale ale is a lost art at this point, at least ones like this, that still drink light but balanced, malt centered but will hopped and still bitter, lower alcohol, off dry, minimal fermentation character, this literally used to be every pale in the game, now its one in a dozen, maybe, so it was nice to tuck into a sixer of these, even if i didnt need to be drinking this much beer this late into the evening, but thats how friends are made right? this is brightly carbonated, a little less sweet and bodied than a lot of them, and pretty assertive on the hops, piney to my nose, a little more bitey citrus in the flavor, even subtle berry at temperature, short of dank but definitely fresh, oily, and robust for its strength. i like the balance, even a light copper to metallic thing on the finish isnt out of place, and this seems well made and simple in a good way. its been awhile since i had anything from these guys, this was a nice reminder of what they can do. very easy drinking, and i liked the last one as much as the first. if you are looking for pale ale as it used to be in the northwest, look no further...

June 2018...pours cloudy copper, tropical fruit nose. Tangerine rind dominates the flavor profile. Some sweetness, byut mostly citrus and ends with a hearty heavy bitter. Solid.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a golden amber color with a one finger foamy head of just off white foam. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a fantastic level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is a nice blend of hoppy and cracker smells. The hop is mainly of a citrus and pine nature with just a hint of a more floral smell. A little bit of a bready taste as well as a hint of caramel around out the aroma creating a nicely hopped pale ale aroma overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a crisper cracker taste with plenty of hop right from the start. The hop upfront is very fresh tasting with lots of pine and earthy flavors. The hop increases even more as the taste moves on with flavors of grapefruit as well as a hint of a floral flavor hitting the taste buds. Along with this just a hint of tangerine sweetness comes to the tongue as well creating a still crisp but very fresh flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The beer has a rather thicker body for a pale ale of 5.4 % abv. with a carbonation level that is on the just lower side. For the style the fresh hops are really nice overall, really accentuating these and allowing them to stand out.
Overall – This was a tasty pale ale with tons of fresh hop flavor. This is very nice, refreshing and pleasurable. Very, very nice…
