Taster at brewery. Dark amber pour, fine off-white foamy head, solid lacing. Toasty malty aroma, nutty. Taste comes in dry, adding some tobacco notes, light sweetness.

Poured from growler into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours deep amber-red color with a huge billowy head of fizzy white foam. The head has an amazing level of retention, with big bubbles within it popping over time to leave a great level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is quite large of a pine and grassy hop smell mixed with a decent level of a floral hop as well. Along with these smells comes some light bits of a bready and doughy smell as well as a hint of a caramel and lighter fruit smell of pear and pear.
Taste – The taste begins with a nice blend of a bready and lightly toasted taste which create a base flavor of the brew. Right at the start there are some hop flavors and a little bit of a pine hop taste as well. There is also a caramel and lighter fruit sweetness upfront, with the fruit being of a more cherry and pear like flavor. The fruit flavors fade quickly however, all while the pine hop gets more and more potent. The increase in the pine hop is accompanied by some hop of a grassy nature, which with the loss of the fruit flavors and the nice blend of hop and malt that is present, it leaves one with a quite nicely hopped and flavorful taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is slightly thicker for a red ale of 6.2 % with a carbonation level that is rather average. For the mix of slightly more dank hop, bready, and lightly sweetened flavors of the brew, the feel is quite nice, making for a nice flavor supported but easy drinking red ale.
Overall – This is a very enjoyable red ale with a nice hop hit and a nice malty bill. Quite tasty and still rather crisp and drinkable. One to try if you have the opportunity.
