At The Cookie Bar on Drouillard Rd. in nearby Windsor. On tap and chilled, 4oz. in a flight of ten beers. My seventh beer from the Ottawa, Ontario brewery, and fourth for 2025. Leading an outing of my Responsible Beer Drinking Club...

On tap at Beertown Burlington. Served cold into a pint glass.
Appearance - Rather hazy rich golden / yellowy color. Nice finger plus of head resting on top. Good lacing .
Smell - Some intense tropical notes of mango and pineapple with lots of orange and grapefruit to balance it out and even a little pine in there making this more West Coast.
Taste - Initially sweet with some mango pineapple then the grapefruit and even some pine resin comes in. Can build to be quite sweet, but the bitterness each sip keeps things in check. There is a chalky graininess underlying the flavor but it doesn't detract.
Mouthfeel - Medium to heavy bodied, prickly carbonation and a chalky finish. For me this works exceedingly well with the pine resin flavor for some strange reason.
Overall - Interesting brew, more West Coast than anything else but does have sweet pineapple and mango elements. The chalky finish isn't something normally I'd like but with the pine resin flavor, this works quite well. Well worth a try and probably a bit underrated here, although many of the reviews are a little older.
*UPDATE - OCTOBER 3, 2025* Revisited on tap at the Ship. Descriptors are all still there just enjoyed it quite a bit less than previously. Maybe by tastebuds were off for a day, or maybe there was some other issue, but dropped the score by .25 across the board to give a better representation of my experiences with the beer. Not usually something I do but the difference was drastic enough to warrant the change.

Pours a beauty see-through gold colour with a thick frothy head. In my opinion, this is an example of an English IPA, rather than an American one. Bitter and hoppy on both the smell and the taste. I detect no tropical or citrus flavours, cheers to that...a good old fashioned IPA. A bit heavy in the strength department and smooth for the mouthfeel

Can: looks good, on the darker side of amber. Doesn't smell like anything in particular, and that's confirmed by the taste. It's crisp and enjoyable but the "IPA" part is not pronounced - no real hops or fruity notes. An enjoyable, drinkable beer, but I prefer my IPAs with a bit more kick.

I taste pine, citrus, and as the can says, burnt sugar, which for me helps offset the other two. I like it - will have one every so often.
One of my favourite IPAs from the beer store in Ottawa.

Pint poured at the airport. I rather like this IPA. Nice fruity pop, hops, complexity. Compared to the crap in this airport (all macros) this is a pleasant diversion

Very solid IPA from Dominion City in East Ottawa. Doesn't hold back on the fruit, hops and malt. Packs a punch with a very bitter finish despite the heavy malt factor. If feel the look and smell of this IPA outperform the taste and finish, nonetheless a very worthy and fresh offering from Dominion City!

Draft: Poured a clear amber color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of fruity ester with some light citrus hops is quite refreshing. Taste is a mix of fruity ester with some citrusy hops and some sweet malt notes. Body si about average with good carbonation. Tasted more like a hoppy Belgian ale than a standard IPA but enjoyable experience nonetheless.

Nice n'hoppy. Interesting finish... Hard to describe... almost spicey... good though. Mild nose. Copper colour. Nice lacing.
