Can: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a medium dark brown foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of chocolate notes with some bourbon and vanilla notes. Taste is a mix of vanilla with some chocolate notes with some bourbon notes with faint woody notes. Body is about full with good carbonation with some light warming alcohol notes. Solid imperial stout with some nice bourbon notes.

Clearly not retired.
This BBAS pours black of course but no head. It is in fact not as carbonated as I would like my stouts of this style to be. The taste is very boozy but nice, with the coffee and vanilla giving it a nice safety net.
It is a well made bourbon barrel aged stout....I just wish there was more carbonation.

Pours a deep midnight black with about two fingers of tan head that breaks slowly leaving a nice ring of foam and some great lacing.
Smell is very barrel forward, bourbon, vanilla and lesther. Then I get a dark fruitiness and some roasts.
Flavor is big barrel up front. Like a blast of bourbon. Then the leather, roasts, vanilla and cocoa come in. They all blend together nicely for a good flavor.
The body is the let down on this beer. A little lighter than I would expect for the style. Carbonation is nice, there is a warm booze feel, and then the bourbon and roasts make the finish.
A good beer. Flavor wise it reminds me of Dragon's Milk. The downside, it's not as smooth and weighty as it can be. Hats off to DC for making this beer...it's a good one.
