Persimmon Hollow Brewing

Persimmon is located off the main drag towards the north end of Downtown Deland. It's one of those breweries where the location is a repurposed from something else, which always gives it a nice look and feel. The vibe here was very quite and chill, with the quality of brews being very good. Service was a bit slow, but they did have a lengthy and eclectic selection on hand which was nice. Though not a place that I would make an effort to return to, if the opportunity came up, I would not hesitate.

Vibe was ok. The place was empty on a Tuesday afternoon. Looked brand new (Flamingo Crossing location. Beer was average. Enjoyed the service. Very friendly but we were the only ones int he whole place. Food menu was interesting choices. Execution was a little lacking. Could be better. I would give it another try if I lived in the area.

Persimmon just opened their new location here in Port Orange yesterday as they purchased Tomoka Brewery’s site. I liked what I saw but it’s so new to them and they will upgrade the inside as soon as they can for sure. pizza, that was VERY good, yesterday on a limited menu. The rest of the menu will follow soon. Overall it’s great to have Persimmon in town and look forward to having a beer there every once in awhile and seeing what they are going to do to the space in the near future. My only complaint was that there is almost no sound proofing inside and just a few people in there when I was there sounded like a full house. Couldn’t hear myself think. I trust that they will get to suppressing the noise levels as they progress in the weeks that follow their new ownership! Great location, easy to get to and a very reasonable amount of parking. Outside seating is a nice spot as well. Welcome to Port Orange as , I think, is still the only brewery in PO. I will follow up this review when they come up with their finished work inside and have their full menu. So my review isn’t as high as it will be

The space is very cool, semi industrial mix of man cave meets brewery. The interior is wide open with enough space to hold a pool table, electric dart boards, several video games cabinets, modern juke box and lots of table / seating. The selection was pretty well mixed, with core, seasonal, and limited releases, from NEIPA, cask ales, to wheat ales and Belgian beers. Service was fast and friendly but the acceptance of large families including noisy kids made the space a bit rowdy not to mention the drunken football fantatic screaming at the T.V. while I'm trying to enjoy my day off with my wife. Cool drinking spot in the middle of no-where Florida.

 

Sorry to leave a bad review for local place with pretty good beer.

Saturday afternoon and the place was semi busy but it took about 10 minutes to get a beer sitting at the bar.

I was asked if I wanted to start a tab by Foster and I said yes. Foster asked for a CC and made a smart ass remark about being respectable looking therefore I might skip out on the tab. I should have just told Foster that if he didn't trust me for the beer I definitely wouldn't trust him with my card but I didn't. After 2 beers, that were pretty good, I asked for my card and check and told them I wanted to pay cash. I was given a tab that showed I was charged on my CC and gave me an option of a tip. I will never again give them a CC for the "privilege" of a tab to buy there beer. The fact that they already ran the card when I expected to pay with cash is wrong.

 

 

A top notch brewery. Though they don't serve food, they welcome their patrons bringing in food from the local eateries. The beer menu is very varied and always good. This is my favorite brewery in the local area.

This is a good local brewery. The beer is consistently good. Great location with many restaurants available nearby. Located in downtown DeLand - a very walkable town.

Brewery vibe is very cool, and the staff was very nice and attentive. Cool layout and fun games/distractions. Unfortunately, almost every beer I sampled that they brewed (shared two flights with a buddy) were "meh". We even purchased a collaboration bottle (Terrapin) they brewed to try later at home and it too was marginal (astringent).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Great guys that run the place. Andy and Robbie are two of the greatest people you could ever meet. Andy is pretty much the epitome of Florida cracker. Robbie has a voice like an angel and can lay down some sweet tunes. DeLand is a great town so anyone serving is bound to be awesome. Also the men's bathroom is hilarious- kegs as urinals.

Persimmon Hollow has cool atmosphere, nice looking place and great location in the heart of downtown Deland. The Beer and staff left a lot to be desired. The staff explained beer as " Oh its really good not like others of the same style.". The wit-bier had a slight soapy taste. They Have a Randall which is cool but the night I went they filled it with star-burst. I also ordered the I.P.A. and it was okay more malty than hoppy. I wasn't to happy but will definitely try again after they are open for a while and have hopefully worked out some kinks.

This is a great new brewery in Deland (30 min North of Orlando.) The location is great and the vibe is even better. They are just getting going and had 5 of their brews on tap, and about 5-7 guest taps. They also just installed a Randall and had some local coffee on their Beach Hippie IPA - this was pretty great.

There is plenty of room with dart boards, a pool table, TVs and a huge glass wall with a view of the brewing operation.

The staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating. I will be going back.
