a really delicious belgian dark, it has all the classic elements, and tastes mature and well refined to me, made by someone that knows how to use belgian yeast, and with a robust malt bill that makes this something pretty special. light brown in color, not as dark as some, and lacking that dark grain roastiness, but im not missing it much. hints of molasses, raisin, toffee, dark candy sugar, red apple, soy sauce, and minerals all at once, with a bubbly whoosh of fruity belgian yeast, bubblegum, and a little oxidation that i always think flatters a beer like this even if its not meant to be there. chewy heavy grain complexion made much lighter by the high carbonation and the almost floral yeast, but still some sturdier cardboard, orange peel, and brown sugar notes to it as well. wet tobacco, dates, and mild pepper to finish, some residual sugar but pretty well cleaned up overall. it hides its strength well, and we find ourselves crushing this beer faster than we should be. i havent had enough from these guys, and while the ching ching i had from was good but kind of new school and gimmicky, this one seems more old school, respectful of tradition, and just really well made.

Very tasty Belgian Strong. Pronounced apple and dark fruits define the pleasant sweetness. The 10.6 abv is hidden very well. Low/ medium carbonation. Great beer.

Sweet and spicy Belgian style beer from BBC. Not something I could drink all the time or very often, but his is a solid effort from BBC.
