Look: Semi-clear deep ruby red with a frothy, slightly stained white head that erupts to a 2-finger pillow and slowly settles, leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Pine sap, caramel, earthy hops, ruby red grapefruit, fir needles, overripe berries, and rich bready notes
Taste: Conifer needles, pitch/sap, and grapefruit and orange-led citrus kick it off as waves of earthiness and caramel pile on. Berries, dough, and bready notes make occasional appearances throughout and closes with citrus and conifers, along with a solid bite
Mouthfeel: Full – flirting with chewy, medium-high carbonation, some slickness, and a pretty dry finish
Overall: This is quite tasty. I’m a huge fan of this hybrid hoppy style so I knew I’d like this and it hits all the right notes for me as well as bringing on that nostalgic feeling reminiscent of when this style first came along. Malty, hoppy, not juicy or tropical, dry finish, and a substantial bite would be the easy way to describe this and I’d add delicious as well. Well done Bend Brewing. Recommended

Pint at Westside Taphouse in Salem OR.
$6
Pours a dark red with a small yet persistent tan head
Aroma a mix of roasted malt and floral hops.
Taste similar to aroma. More pine and dank notes showing.
Nice medium mouth feel. Good carbonation.
A nice Red IPA
