Mango. Citrus. Succulent. We are humbled to be able to release our 30th Anniversary IPA this year, and we couldn’t be any more stoked! Notes of mango, citrus and tropical fruit are prominent, thanks to heavy handed additions of Krush, Citra and Citra Cryo hops. Coupled with a balanced but light malt bill to help meld everything together and keep it crushable. Cheers!
Malt: 2-Row Pale, White Wheat, Munich I
Hops: Krush, Citra, Citra Cryo
Yeast: Chico/American Ale

Look: Pours a crystal clear goldenrod with a silky-looking head that settles to a foamy lid and leaves nice lacing behind
Aroma: Pine sap and needles, pithy white grapefruit, navel orange, wafts of blueberries, diesel, crushed fir needles, light melon, kumquats, and bready malt
Taste: Follows the nose well as it is jump started by a combo of wet and resinous conifer and sharp citrus fruits that slowly unpack as each has their brief moment in the spotlight . Blueberries, Cannabis, and some honeydew melon assert themselves in the middle before yielding the floor to the citrus/conifer extravaganza until it closes out with a nice bite
Mouthfeel: Full, lightly slick, clean, medium-high carbonation, and clean and lightly dry on the finish
Overall: This is a tasty one for sure. I almost didn’t notice the brewery on this one but the black and gold label caught my eye as did the 30th Anniversary moniker, which piqued my interest. Bend Brewing Company and I first met shortly after my 21st birthday and I’ve been a fan since so this was a great buy and a delicious beer to boot. A total classic, clean, and clear WCIPA that has to have Simcoe in it and delivers a tasty beer that is right up my alley. I’ve liked each can in the 4-pack more and more as I drink them too. Highly recommended

This 30th Anniversary IPA has a rich golden color capped with a loose head of chalk white foam that displays low retention but leaves large blotches of lacing. The nose is full of ripe mango (complete with layers of tropical funk), pears, and an almost metallic burst of citrus.. The flavor is largely the same, leading with slightly overripe mango followed by bright bursts of lemon pith and lime peel on a foundation of lightly toasted malt. There's a gush of sweetness up front, but it fades into tangy citrus through the middle. The finish is tropical fruit cocktail and juicy pears with a breath of watermelon on top of moderate sweetness and low bitterness.
I didn't realize that Bend Brewing Co. had been around for 30 years until I picked up this 30th Anniversary IPA today. To quote Terry Tate, Office Linebacker, "That's old school, baby! Hoooo!" And yet this is an IPA which is thoroughly modern, and amply displays the kind of brewing skill earned over decades of great beers.
