Light amber look. Really subtle, light toasted and a bit caramelized malt, with a moderate level of lemon/grapefruit peel, for the aroma. Somewhat smooth, light toasted malt and a bit brisk, herbal and bit lemony, hop flavors. A little light on the body and fairly easy finish.

Draft at brewery. Light golden body, hazy and milky, small ring of white head. Grainy aroma and taste, light and palateable. not too much here, but its a golden, so wasn’t expecting too much.

Had this at the brewery. Pours a golden color with good clarity, 1/2" white head. Aroma of like, what seemed like a lager? Weird.

The taste then dropped what seemed like wheat. Like a blonde wheat ale. The hopping was minimal, per style. The pale toasted malt was barely there. The carbonation was lively. There's just a smidgen of hops. The yeast was relatively clean with a hint of fruity sweet stripe. There really becomes only so much you can say about these standard blonde ales. They're made for people who like BMC and need an ale gateway. Which is fine. There just isn't much to say beyond "oh this would be ok on a hot summer day" or something about a lawnmower.

This is a decent clean, blonde ale.

On tap at the brewpub.

Pouring a clear gold with a thin white head with minimal lacing and retention, this looks OK. The nose is great! Fresh, happy, snappy Mildly doughy, honeyed malt. Mildly happy, fragrantly so with lemon and floral notes. The palate is fresh, earhty, lemony with minimal bitterness. Honey, light cotton candy notes, this has a touch of dough and is very refreshing. Light in body, moderate carbonation, fruity floral hoppy finish with lemon, mint and honey. Excellent.

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a lightly hazy golden yellow, with a 1/2 inch of white head that low retention and OK lacing.

The aroma was typical for the style, nicely blended grain and hops, with the grain having a slightly stronger presence. The taste was pretty much the same, malt and hops playing together very nicely.

The body was very good, a bit fuller than most examples of the style, but still light and crisp. Drinkability was very good, I would happily take a growler of this tubing if I lived in Bend. As it was, I settled for sitting on the deck and looking at the river while enjoying a pint. Worth stopping by for.

This is BBC's bread n' butter closest-thing-to-macro.

Light clear golden with a weak head.

Mild malty smell, nothing to write home about.

Taste is generally malty with just enough hops to balance it. All of BBC's offerings seem to been well-balanced and this one, though on the light side, fits the bill.

The mild flavors make this one a good drinker, and though an ale, reminds me lot of a light lager. Good clean finish and quite enjoyable.

Definitly the most pedestrian of their offerings, perfect as an intro beer for that macro buddy of yours who's scared to try anything new.

True to its word, this is a golden colored beer, though the lights are a bit dim in here and it’s somewhat hard to tell. Metolius takes its name from the central Oregon town and river by the same name, which in turn is derived from a native expression meaning “spawning salmon”. Who would have guessed that the natives of central Oregon knew Latin?

This is a light bodied beer with a soft, downy white head and an indiscernible smell. A few outcroppings of lace cling to the pint, but there is little sustained carbonation. Metolius tastes gently sweet at first, but is met with a solid bitter compliment that defines the finish. The middle palate is shaped by a tartness suggestive of wheat, and a small wedge of lemon would not be out of place here.
