Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black color with an off white close to tan foamy head that dissipated at a decent pace. Sly speckled lacing. The aroma takes graham cracker crumbs flowing evenly over vanilla bean. But even the ash is pretty bold in this. Molasses to caramel malty sweetness. The flavor yields to the sweet graham cracker crumbs first and then the molasses to caramel malts slide in for a sticky fashion. Blended sweet to sticky aftertaste. Sly sticky sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation feels good. Stickiness feels acceptable. Overall, closest to an English porter with a Bent Hill sort of twist. This one actually works. I would have this again. Why is this brewery so up and down?
