Poured into a mug, the appearance was a rugged semi-dark brown color with a fizzy white head that died off into oblivion and had no lacing. The aroma had stale bready malts, sharp soury nuts and some yeasty notes. The flavor had that yeasty to soury nutty to burnt maltiness. Sly sour to malty aftertaste. Sour finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a hard to take down soury feel on my tongue. Not that sessionable. Carbonation felt fine. Overall, pretty sure that this wasn’t the intention of the brewer to create a sour brown ale so I would chalk this up as that they’re still not cleaning their tanks adequately.
