Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a rugged hazy burnt orange color with a finger’s worth of fizzy white head that dissipates more than quickly. No lacing. The aroma had burnt orange peel, old grass, and some stale bready malts. The flavor ruggedly leads with that bland taste coming from the aroma. It’s the same aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a hard to choke down sort of feel. Just seems to run extremely rough on my tongue and exacting a harshness a bit more brutal than a lot of other AIPA’s. Overall, just glad this was free. I just hope the guy who gave it to me got it for free too.
