Juniper Berry
Chaga Imperial
Black IPA
Moderate to vigorous pour yields a one inch white head over a dark amber body with fluffy lacing. (Not a Black IPA.) Nose of berry and herbal tea. Taste of slightly sweet berries, tropical fruit, and slight citrus. Nice feel and overall, a very unique DIPA; very refreshing and quite delicious. Cheers!

Considered an imperial black IPA, this was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a semi-dark brown color with a small cap of a little white to off white foamy head that slid off fairly quick. Some lace ran here and there.
The aroma had some sweet berry-ish character playing with some dark bread and grassy hop tones.
The flavor was moderately sweet and dry with the berries and dark bread. Aftertaste was moderately sweet with the berries.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt on par. Sweet berry sort of finish.
Overall, odd imperial black IPA by any standards with all of that berry sweetness going on. I'm guessing this is the juniper berries that were added to this beer. Also, it's not a true "black IPA" as the color is more brown.
