On tap at Worthy Burger, South Royalton, Vermont.
They poured this into a tulip, but I got what was going on.
The appearance was a nice looking dark amber close to red color with a slim cap of a little white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Not much lace.
The aroma had an earthy to grassy to dried resinous sort of arrangement over top of a clean yet stifled bready and caramel maltiness. Light toast and a pinch of white bread, then the hop spice, somewhat like white pepper.
The flavor leaned towards the hop spiciness with a slight sweetness coming in there. Then the bitterness which made a good effort to blend but fell slighlty short. Mild hop spice to caramel backing in the aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine, somewhat low, but I didn't mind. ABV felt on par. Mild hop spice to blended malty finish.
Overall, one of the better beers by Bent Hill. I could see myself coming back to this.
