16 oz. can.
Moderate pour yields a one inch tan head over a dark brown body with some lacing. Nose of dark roasted malt, slight vanilla, cherries, and chocolate. Taste is mostly cherry and chocolate with a bit of vanilla, malted milk, and milk chocolate near the finish. Nice feel, and overall, a fine, near sessionable porter from Braintree, VT. Cheers!

DATE: June 3, 2018... OCCASION: a great weekend of sports and family culminates with another chance for the Cavs to take a road game from the Warriors... GLASSWARE: HopDevil nonick... pours a midnight-black body, fizzling with a vociferous amount of off-white head... nothing getting through the glass here, while its head thins to a slight row of bubbles... immediate strength of chocolate, with vanilla, cherry, phenol, mint tea, and cola sugars... first sip is smooth, significantly carbonated for a porter, slick at the throat and medium-bodied... this one is a bit more assertive than its genre, biting and cloying its way down, only to leave a substantial, lasting taste... speaking of which, the cocoa, vanilla and earthy hops blend nicely, while the cherries hint at a dessert topping but elude a full-on admittance... perhaps the toned-down fruit defers to the porter's working man's onus, or the sugars take over the taste buds--which makes this a sweet experience indeed--but to judge this by its label is to acknowledge it IS something of an illusion... still, I appreciate this backyard brew, courtesy of Jeff and his Vermont forays.... a nice beer for an NBA finals night...

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a thick dark brown close to black color with a cap of an eggshell white foamy head. Light lace.
The aroma had a nice meshing of milk and dark chocolate to roasty coffee tones. Light coffee sweetness.
The flavor leads sweet with a developing modest roastiness. Sly milk chocolate aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good, somewhat low. ABV felt good. Very smooth milky chocolatey finish.
Overall, very nice porter, it's an American one with a slight sweeter contour about it. Let's call this a dessert porter.
