16 oz. can.
Moderate pour yields a half inch light pinkish head over a slightly hazy, reddish brown body with a bit of lacing. Nose of smoked maple, wet leaves, malt, and slight hops. Taste of maple, wood, and earth. Nice feel and overall, surprisingly less sweet than expected. Cheers!!!

Can to tulip.
The appearance was a nice looking dark amber/red color with a small off white semi-foamy head falling off at a good pace with a slight fizziness. Barely any lace.
The aroma had a long maple syrup sweet quality up front with clean sugary notes and some woodiness. Subtle earthy biscuity quality underneath.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet malty side pulling the maple notes into some candied biscuity malt tones. Slight woody dry character in the aftertaste with some maple syrup.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Good carbonation. Pretty smooth but contained enough to not allow any stickiness, which totally surprised me.
Overall, as an American imperial red ale, it definitely works! It's an "upp-ed" version of their "maple red ale" but absolutely allows a stellar balance between maple and malts. Nothing cloying whatsoever!
