A- Just about black pour from the taps to a pint glass; some red at the edges. Large tan puffy cap rises up past two fingers displaying great retention. Large sheets and webs of lace.
S/T- Roasty and toasty grains without much sweetness, dry kilned barley up front. Chocolate, toffee, slight red fruits like prune. These fruits are more-so in the flavor. Toasted almond. Mineral water. Super deep bitter cocoa in taste.
MF- Light overall body. Somewhat thin but still within style confines. Medium carbonation promotes a slightly foamy texture. Dry finish.
If I see a Mild at a brewery I will almost immediately order it. I love seeing brewers exploring styles like this breaking up the onslaught of IPA, APA and stout. Props to you 2nd Story.

9oz in Flute
A: Deep walnut body with thin head and low retention.
S: Beautiful nutty aromas with a slight char background.
T: Great flavor of cara malt, walnut, and chocolate.
M: Body was slightly thin- I'd love to see this mild on the engine.

16oz pour at the brewery, $4 pint ... nice!
Very right pour, clear reddish brown hue with a off white head that does not waver. Nutty, toasty, bready aroma and flavor. Very easy drinking at 3.7% but a whole lot more flavor compared to what most brewers are pushing out during this session beer craze. Hats off to 2nd Story for brewing a true session ale and keeping it pretty authentic.

American style pour was more flavorful with chocolate in the taste. The English pull style pour was more of a tea flavor in the beer.
