Notes from a few nights ago at the brewery.
A- Served into with a black-as-night body and a one finger, silky tan head. Good head retention with a medium ring sticking around.
S/T- Deep roasted malt base with hints of milk chocolate. Spicy throughout with a distinct nutmeg, cinnamon and clove feel with a touch of ginger in the finish. The vanilla bean is very strong without becoming too overpowering, it adds that dessert feel. Very sweet but in the confines of a rich Porter for me.
MF- Decadent with a very silky, smooth creaminess brought out by a medium level of bubbles. Feels like a pillow of froth with any agitation.
It was not exactly clear if this was made with pumpkin or not; I would assume so but I also do not get any real pumpkin or squash tones in the brew at all. Either way it is a rich Porter with a strong spice presence that is presented in a crafty way.
